The Coupon Database here on the website can be tricky if you don’t understand the language.
This is a great resource to look for coupons that you need for items you have on your shopping list that you don’t currently have a coupon for. You can be generic in your search, such as “cereal” or more specific, such as “Kellogg’s Raisin Bran”. Once you click “search”, it will provide you with a list of available coupons. The ones that display as a hyperlink are printable coupons. The ones that are not hyperlinks are ones that can be found in the inserts from the Sunday papers or in magazines. Some of them you’ll need to “like” the page on Facebook to be able to print the coupon, others will be manufacturer sites where you’ll need to fill out a short questionnaire, or a digital coupon that you’ll load to your shoppers card or online account.
The Sunday papers typically consist of 4 different inserts; Smart Source, Red Plum, General Mills and/or Proctor & Gamble. Some weeks there will be one of each, other weeks you may only have one insert period. You will not have coupon inserts on weeks including a holiday. The date for each of these inserts can be found in small print on the spine of the insert.
TIP: Once you’ve gone through the inserts and clipped the coupons you know you may use, paperclip the remainder and write the date on the outside. That way, you’ll still have them when you search the Coupon Database or when you read one of the Coupon Match-ups for your favorite store(s).

- The first line is telling you that there was a $.75 off of 2 coupon in the Smart Source (SS) insert in the Sunday paper on 8/28/2011 for Betty Crocker Supreme Brown or Dessert Bar Mixes.
- The second line is telling you that there was a $.75 off of 2 coupon in the Red Plum (RP) insert in the Sunday paper on 8/7/2011 for Betty Crocker Supreme Brown or Dessert Bar Mixes.
- The third line is telling you that there was a $.75 off of 2 coupon in the General Mills (GM) insert in the Sunday paper on 8/7/2011 for Betty Crocker Supreme Brown or Dessert Bar Mixes.
- The fourth line is telling you that there is a $1/1 Folgers Filter Packs Coffee on Coupons.com. Click the link at the far right and it will take you to the site where you can then print the coupon. I apologize, I couldn’t get the post to cooperate with me and align this line with the rest of them.
With Coupons.com, you will have to have installed their printer before you can print from their site. It is safe and you’ll only need to download it once.
Below are the codes the database uses for the Sunday inserts. When coupons are displayed as a hyperlink (meaning they are printable), they will sometimes have an “IE” or “FF” following them. That’s stating the best browser to use. I use Google Chrome and don’t have any trouble with printing any of the coupons.
